Trip Tickets and Waste Manifests: Reno’s Three-Year Rule

Every pump-out must be documented, and the document kept on site for three years. What a good one contains.

The rule

“The industrial user must document each pump-out with a waste manifest or trip ticket which must be provided to the city as required and kept by the industrial user on site for at least three years,” with compliance shown “through a certification by the hauler included on the waste manifest or trip ticket for each load” (RMC 12.16.555(b)(6)(ii)f–g). The general record rule says the same: records kept “available for inspection for at least three years” (12.16.580(b)).
